Liebe Freunde des Skibike-Sports!

Dies ist ein dringender Aufruf! Wie ihr wisst, bemühe ich mich seit mittlerweile 19 Jahren, mit all meinen mir zur Verfügung stehenden Ressourcen, unsere geliebte Sportart in Europa voran zu treiben und zu etablieren. Je weiter dieses Vorhaben fortschreitet umso größer wird aber der Aufwand.
Leider ist die Unterstützung in den Skigebieten, der Wirtschaft und bei offiziellen Stellen (trauriger Weise von Österreich sprechend!) gegen Null. Man denkt offensichtlich trotz deutlicher Zeichen, dass es wie bisher weitergehen wird. Nur in Richtung „Ski Alpin forever!“ und Expansion der Skigebiete, statt einer jungen Sportart mit großem Potential, auch nur eine einzige Chance zu geben. Und glaubt mir es ist unvorstellbar wo ich überall vorstellig wurde und nicht ein einziges Mal von irgendjemanden je wieder gehört hätte!
Nachdem nun Timo Schmidt, der mich jahrelang unterstützte (vielen lieben Dank an dieser Stelle dafür!), von seinem Amt als Vizepräsident zurückgetreten ist, nutze ich das als Chance zum Aufruf den Verein neu aufzustellen.
Derzeit braucht der Verein rasch personelle Unterstützung, da die unten aufgezählten Aufgaben und darüber hinaus nicht von meiner Person weiter, nebenbei ausgeführt werden können.
Ich selbst, bin aber natürlich stark davon überzeugt, dass dieser Aufruf auf zahlreiches Feedback stößt und wir dann, deutlich gestärkt und neu organisiert, in naher Zukunft sehr viel erreichen können!
Zukünftige Ziele sind:
· Die „King of Snow“ Rennserie weiter zu führen und zu professionalisieren. Wir lernen gerade sehr viel! Diese „Lessons Learned“ sollten zukünftig durch ein Team bei Events umgesetzt werden.
· Die Organisation von Skibike-Treffen, schon fast „Skibike-Reisen“. Sprich, eventuell auch im Rahmen der KOS Serie, organisierte Road Trips/ Skibike Erlebnisse für Fahrer aus aller Welt anzubieten.
· Eine enger Zusammenarbeit mit der American Skibike Association, betreffend Veranstaltungen, Abstimmung der Rennserie, Ausbildungsprogramme, Nachwuchsförderung
· Die Gründung von Clubs in den Ländern
· Im Rahmen von Nachwuchsarbeit, junge Fahrer gezielt zu erreichen, zu begeistern und zum Rennsport zu animieren. Eventuell mehrere Hersteller zu Testevents an ausgewählten Orten zu motivieren.
· Die Legalisierung des Skibikes auf allen Liftanlagen Europas, bzw. das Erreichen, dass SkibikerInnen nicht mehr als „Fußgänger“ laut Liftgesetz eingestuft werden.
Folgende Personen werden dafür dringend gesucht:
· Neuer Vizepräsident zur Abstimmung von Entscheidungen und als Vertretung des Präsidenten, sowie für langfristige Planung, offizielle Handlungen der EUSA und als vertretende Leitung/ Überwachung von Events.
· Kassier zur Führung und Abrechnung der Vereinskasse und Einhebung von Mitgliedsbeiträgen/ Mitglieder bewerben.
· Sponsorenverantwortliche Person um Sponsoren zu suchen, finden und zu betreuen sowie um die Sponsorenmittel bei Events zu verwalten und platzieren.
· Verantwortliche Person für Administration/ SchriftführerIn, die speziell für die Weiterentwicklung von Reglements, Formularen, Ausschreibungen zeichnet (in meist englischer Sprache)
· Ausbildungsprogrammverantwortliche Person. Weiterentwicklung der Lehrunterlagen und Organisation von Ausbildungsveranstaltungen.
· TerminkoordinatorIn zur Abstimmung aller Termine, Kommunikation dieser, Aufbereitung von Terminkalendern usw.
· Websiteverantwortliche Person – Pflege der Inhalte und Bilder sowie auch zur Bild und Videomaterialbeschaffung.
· 10 Personen, die auch abwechselnd, bei den internationalen Events, die Veranstalter unterstützen. So, z.B. beim Kurs stecken, Start, Streckenposten, Herstellen der Infrastruktur.
· Idealen falls eine Person, die bei den Events Video- und Fotoaufnahmen erstellt, aufbereitet und weiterleitet.
· Social Media verantwortliche Person für das Erstellen von Inhalten und das Posten von Beiträgen.
Sämtliche gesuchte Personen können natürlich auch gemeinsam Tätigkeiten teilen, da vermutlich niemand immer vor Ort sein kann.
Wir haben einen großartigen Sport! Wir alle wissen, wie rasch man dafür begeistern kann und wie groß das Potential ist. Ich sehe eine realistische Chance, dass der Skibike Sport in den kommenden drei bis fünf Jahren groß wird, und dass wir alle davon profitieren können.
Pionier, Vorreiter zu sein, ist eine oftmals undankbare Aufgabe, zugegeben, aber wenn ein guter Event gelingt, man Fortschritte erzielt, oder wieder einmal viele Personen mit dem „Skibike-typischen Grinser“ sieht, ist das im Gegenzug umso mehr wert. In dieser Phase, ist es für den Verein und für den Sport aber unumgänglich freiwillige Helfer zu gewinnen, die koordiniert allen an einem Strang ziehen. Deshalb brauchen wir jetzt dich!

Dear friends of the Skibike sport!
This is an urgent appeal! As you know, I undertook quite some efforts to promote and establish our beloved sport in Europe for 19 years now with almost all I could give. However, the further this endeavor progresses, the greater the effort involved.
Unfortunately, the support in the ski resorts, the economy and from official bodies (sadly speaking of Austria!) is close to zero. Despite clear signs, people obviously think that things will continue as always only in the direction of "Alpine skiing forever!" and expansion of the ski resorts, instead of giving a young sport with great potential even a single chance. And believe me, its unimaginable where I've been and not once have heard from anyone again!
Now that Timo Schmidt, who supported me for years (thank you very much for that!), has resigned from his position as Vice President, I am taking this as an opportunity to reorganize the club.
The association currently needs personnel support quickly, as the tasks listed below and beyond cannot be carried out by me on the side.
However, I am convinced that this call will meet great feedback and that we will then be able to achieve much more in the near future, significantly strengthened and reorganized!
Future goals are:
- To continue and professionalize the "King of Snow" race series. We are currently learning a lot! These "lessons learnt" should be implemented by a team at future events.
- The organization of Skibike meetings, almost "Skibike trips". In other words, possibly also offering organized road trips/Skibike experiences for riders from all over the world as part of the KOS series.
- Close cooperation with the American Skibike Association regarding events, coordination of the race series, training programs, promotion of young talent
- The foundation of clubs in all countries
- Reaching out to young riders, inspiring them and encouraging them to join racing. Possibly motivate several manufacturers to organize test events at selected locations.
- The legalization of Skibike transport on all ski lifts in Europe, or to ensure that Skibikers are no longer classified as "pedestrians" according to lift legislation.
The following people are urgently needed
- New Vice President to represent at events and be part of the decisions process in the EUSA, as well as for long-term planning, official actions of the EUSA and as representative management/supervision of events.
- Treasurer to manage and settle the association's accounts and collect membership fees/recruit members.
- Person responsible for sponsoring, to find new sponsors and to manage sponsor´s materials at events.
- Person responsible for administration, who is specifically responsible for the further development of regulations, forms and invitations to tender (usually in English)
- Person responsible for the training program. The further development of training scripts and the organization of training events.
- Coordinator for events, communication of these, preparation of calendars.
- Person responsible for the website - maintenance of content and images as well as image and video material.
- 10 people who support the organizers at the international events. For example, for setting the course and infrastructure, managing the race at the start, on track and at the finish line.
- Ideally a person who creates, edits and forwards video and photo recordings of the events.
- Social media person responsible for creating content and placing post on misc. platforms.
All positons we are looking for can be shared with others, as it is unlikely that anyone can always be on site.
We have a great sport! We all know how quickly people can become enthusiastic about it and how great the potential is. I see a realistic chance that the sport of Skibiking will become big in the next three to five years and that we may all benefit from it.
Being a pioneer is often a thankless task, but when a good event succeeds, progress is made, or you once again see many people with the typical “Skibike-grin”, it's worth it. In this phase, however, it is essential for the club and for the sport to recruit volunteers who pull together in a coordinated manner. That's why we need you now!

We established a race series for all Winter-Funsport-Gear!
The King of Snow Euro Cup race series is a true achievement. A network of Skibike friends in different countries grown over many years finally made it possible to start with this wonderful project. We worked hard to reach this goal in order to show that our beloved sport is a serious one with gear that can be used also in hard competitions. And here we go!
Our annual meeting turned into a Europe wide race series. We are actively seeking sponors to elevate our events, fostering a year by year grwoth in both, professionalsim and scale. A race scene will be establish which also means that the sport is pushed year by year to new levels. We already have seen this effect in our first races. The Croatian race 2022 was a mile stone that has shown that serious racing is what we want and can do! We will keep this goal and hope that manufatureres, new board memebers, sponsors and riders will help us with this attempt to make Skibiking great and well known in the world!

17th December 2014 - The European Skibike Association becomes a formally registered Club with all rights and powers.

29th September 2015 - As a member of the Vieneese Skibob Association (Wiener Skibob Verband) we received a first financial government support which we will use for a Promotion Event at our new base camp - Stuhleck Semmering - a date will be announced soon!

11th November 2015 - Country representative nominated for Romania & Bulgaria
July 2021 The King of Snow Euro Cup Race series was invented. First races are Croatia, Slovenia and Austria
January to March 2022 successfully we established the King of Snow Race Cup series with two spectacular races in Croatia and Slovenia where the concept was approved successfully
Spetember 2023 Italy joins the King of Snow Euro Cup series. 4 races in four contries. Starting with the discussion with the ASA (American Skibike Association) to form a world cup series. Eusa will send the Euro Cup Team to the US for a test race in February 2024.
Future projects
+ Recruit executive committee members, ideally from European countries with an existing strong skibiking community in order to reach many new members
+ Start an annual skibike focused event at which skibikers can meet and network
+ Contact all ski resorts with an unified and professional approach, illustrating the benefits of allowing skibiking
+ Design standard safety practices for and with governing bodies on how to use the different lift designs and obtain permission to use all of them
+ Provide and maintain a list of all skibike friendly resorts in Europe
